Black & White 2025
Attention all Black & White fans! Pokémon is releasing a new Black & White set in 2025! It's focused on the old Black & White set, but with a new look. Curious? Read on for an explanation.
End of Scarlet & Violet era
With the new Black & White set, Pokémon concludes the Scarlet & Violet set. Just like with Sword & Shield, it ends with a big bang: a specialty set! Or should we say, specialty sets!?!?!?

Black Bolt & White Flare
Pokémon surprises us again with not one set, but two! Black & White is being transformed into Black Bolt and White Flare . These sets highlight the Pokémon from the Unova region, bringing them back after a 14-year absence. The sets themselves will contain over 170 cards and will be released on July 18, 2025. The Japanese version will be released on June 6, which is usually earlier than all Japanese sets. What's unusual is that the set will be almost entirely translated from Japanese to English.
Illustration Rare Paradise
That's what I'll call it: an Illustration Rare Paradise. Many people know I'm a huge fan of these full-art cards, and I'm thrilled with the choice Pokémon has made. Every Pokémon from the Unova region gets its own Illustration Rare, EVERY ONE ! This means there are, yes, 144 Illustration Rares to be found in these two sets! Who wouldn't be thrilled!
Chase cards
Besides the incredible Illustration Rares, the chase cards are, of course, Zekrom and Reshiram. These cards get a special, unique chase card, either completely black or white! Besides these beautiful cards, there's also a special red card from Victini, also completely red. Each set has its own unique, iconic cards, and these are certainly among the Black & White sets.

Conclusion
The new Black & White set consists of two sets in English: Black Bolt and White Flare. Each Pokémon in the Unova region gets its own Illustration Rare, a total of 156. Zekrom and Reshiram SIRs are also the cards you'll want for your collection, but there's also a beautiful red Victini. These cards are completely black, white, and red, respectively.
